SugarHouse Casino Philadelphia will play host next week to a horde of poker action over the next week. The $100, 000 guaranteed Poker Showdown will take place from April 23 to April 27 and six Day1s will be featured in this $280 buy-in tournament and from April 26 to April 28 a series of high stakes cash games of Poker Night in America will be conducted.
PNIA also announced the lineup of poker stars taking part in cash games, which will be live streamed and broadcast on TV from April 26-28. Phil Hellmuth, the all time gold bracelet world Poker series is also scheduled to appear in the tournament.
Hellmuth said, “I am excited about the SugarHouse event in Philadelphia and anticipating having a good time”. For Hellmuth this will be his third visit to Poker Night in America. He also said that mingling with local players in the event will be a great opportunity and also participating in the cash games.
Darren Elias, the back-to-back World Poker Tour champ will be joining Hellmuth and some of the other notable poker pros include Andy Frankenberger, the former APT Player of the Year, high roller Dan Shak, and WSOP bracelet winner and PokerNews Managing Editor Chad Holloway.
Holloway was quite excited about the event and said, “This is the first time for me in Philadelphia and it will be the biggest cash game of my life that I will be playing”. He further quipped that he has been the reporter for some of the participating players and expected the information he has gathered on them to assist him when he encounter them on the table. He also said that wanted to follow the footsteps of Kristy Arnett and would like to represent PokerNews to report on Poker Night in America. Cash game in the event will also feature Ladies Night II, the ladies-only telecast cash game which is quite popular among followers.
